Holiday Concert with Two Great Choruses
by Janet Mason
The Grand Rapids Chorus of Sweet Adelines (GRSA) and the Great Lakes Chorus (GLC) are combining their voices for a Holiday concert. “A Simple Holiday” performance will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 3pm. The two barbershop groups will be singing some of their favorite holiday songs.
This is a first come, first seated concert. Donations will be graciously accepted. This is a fundraising event. The Grand Rapids Chorus needs to replace its 30-year-old risers, while the Great Lakes Chorus needs to expand its risers.
Join us at the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church at 7495 Cascade Rd SE in Grand Rapids (Cascade Township) on December 2nd at 3pm for “A Simple Holiday.”
Grand Rapids Chorus of Sweet Adelines is an energetic a cappella chorus of 60+ women, who perform 4-part harmony. This award-winning chorus has been entertaining audiences since 1951. We have promoted barbershop music through our many local performances and tours around the world, from the Netherlands and Italy to France and Pearl Harbor.
The Great Lakes Chorus is the Grand Rapids chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chorus, along with their various quartets, have been a part of the West Michigan music scene for over 80 years. The award-winning chorus has represented the state of Michigan at international barbershop chorus competitions many times.
